Bio
I am an emerging interdisciplinary artist based in Melbourne, Australia, who has exhibited and performed works in Australia and internationally.
Working at the nexus of performance and installation, I draw on an extensive practice in sound, media art, and site-specific installation to create sculptural assemblages of programmed electronics; interrogating this mediating layer of technical objects between the self and the other. Through physicialising the ephemeral materialism of technology, I propose speculative ontologies about the relation of temporality and causation, considering the role narrative and existence of meaning in the posthuman epoch.
My work also questions how representation functions in the virtual through connecting performative feedback loops of cameras and screens, microphones and speakers. This is tempered through a synthesis of emerging technologies and classical forms, offering a reflexive consideration the role of art-making and the encounter in the production of new subjectivities.
I have completed my Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) Honours at RMIT University in 2021, and Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) in Sound at RMIT University in 2020.
My solo installation works have been presented at Pitch Music & Arts Festival (2017) and No Standing Festival (2017), and I have been commissioned to present a new installation work at Inner Varnika 2020 (delayed by COVID-19). I have also worked developing installations for Catalan dance choreographer Raquel Klein’s project Wu Wei.
I have a long commitment to art and sound culture, and have held senior positions at Advanced Music (Sonar Festival, Sonar+D) and others cultural companies.
