Originally commissioned for their 2020 edition which was cancelled due to the COVID-19 health emergency, the skeleton of the work that would go on to become the commission TUNNEL 2023 was reworked into a 9m high tower activated with addressable LEDs and custom lighting programs to meet a lower revised budget for the festival.
