{"id":108,"date":"2019-05-11T02:47:29","date_gmt":"2019-05-11T02:47:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/clapat.ro\/themes\/hervin-wordpress\/?page_id=108"},"modified":"2021-11-29T23:06:12","modified_gmt":"2021-11-29T23:06:12","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sopenlehto.com\/index.php\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"Bio"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-hervin-gutenberg-container row_padding_top\" style=\"background-color:transparent;text-align:left\">\n<h3 class=\"has-mask has-medium-font-size\">Bio<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I am an emerging interdisciplinary artist based in Melbourne, Australia, who has exhibited and performed works in Australia and internationally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Working at the nexus of performance and installation, I draw on an extensive practice in sound, media art, and site-specific installation to create sculptural assemblages of programmed electronics; interrogating this mediating layer of technical objects between the self and the other. Through physicialising the ephemeral materialism of technology, I propose speculative ontologies about the relation of temporality and causation, considering the role narrative and existence of meaning in the posthuman epoch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My work also questions how representation functions in the virtual through connecting performative feedback loops of cameras and screens, microphones and speakers. This is tempered through a synthesis of emerging technologies and classical forms, offering a reflexive consideration the role of art-making and the encounter in the production of new subjectivities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I have completed my Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) Honours at RMIT University in 2021, and Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) in Sound at RMIT University in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My solo installation works have been presented at Pitch Music &amp; Arts Festival (2017) and No Standing Festival (2017), and I have been commissioned to present a new installation work at Inner Varnika 2020 (delayed by COVID-19).
